i dont think the country makes a big difference, i have two friends stuck in name check (one was born in canada with an english first and last name). i think its the combination of the name, DOB and a crappy system

Thus you can use your cell phone to call a vonage # here in US and have it forwarded to india cell #. Works for me.

Simply log in to your vonage account and go to features and configure the call forwarding feature.Configure such that the call is forwarded after 20 sec's. Intially vonage rings and after that it is forwarded to the india cell or landline forwarding number. Its free of charge as calling from vonage to india #'s is free. Hope this puts the debate to rest.

Sometimes I wonder how these bozos get elected to office. These congressmen who misread the law, how can they get away with making such false statements over mainstream national media ? What is particularly appalling is , why haven't we heard any outbursts from media or other government quarters challenging his statements. What a mess...

Ok it too late for the letters..we need to focus on the HR bills by Resp Sen Lofgren..we have a narrow window here.. and bi partisan support..we can send her flowers and request the Senator to take this up seriously..also we can send the flowers to the co-sponsors..at thier local offices instead of DC ..since DC office is closed now..

I received a response from the ombudsman. I am not sure if our issue is properly understood by his office. When we write about AC21 issues, the response talks about I-140 delays. Gurus, please help me understand the contents of the response below:

You know every time I hear the so called "highly skilled and educated" complaining about predatory lending, it reminds me of our maid servant in India. She would constantly get into trouble by borrowing money from her neighborhood sharks at high interest rates, and then come to my parents for help when she couldn't pay up. My parents would give her a well meaning scold, and help her out only because they knew she was illiterate.
Now I wonder how these guys like punjabi7, kumar1 and leo2606 can blame the lender only for what they got themselves into. They even go as far as claiming that moral, ethics, and scruples are all some kind of fairy tale virtues that are hardly ever practiced in real life. They even have the audacity to assume everyone else here shares their definition of what's right and wrong by saying everyone has at one point or another returned used items to stores!
Punjabi7 still insists on avoiding morals in the discussion and is persistently soliciting for "advice/options" for his so called mess.

The very people tossing aside ethics are the ones who used good faith based credit system. Now suddenly it is all Capitalism, Greed, Bank's and Lender's fault. Whatever happen to personal responsibility ?
All those suggesting foreclosure are forgetting one thing: The pendulum has shifted and the same capitalism that supported the reckless credit is now going to choke it off. You don't want to be on the wrong side twice !!!! The thing about free markets is they adjust to new realities long before people do.Before you know it the easy walking away (or foreclosure) might become the biggest mistake while buying house might be distant second.
In the meanwhile please don't shoot the messenger aka sledge_hammer. If you read his posts he has given the best advice with a good dose of much needed reality and sound language. If you are hostile towards him you are simply in denial. The longer you stay there the harder it will be to cope with the new realities.
Punjabi77, good luck to you buddy. This will pass too, don't ruin everything for $20K. You will earn it back but you can't undo foreclosure and whatever comes with it in terms of personal memory, your credit and things in future that you can't foresee now. Do the right thing it will only make you stronger and someday you will be able to tell your kid that you did the right thing in the face of adversity and eventually not only survived it but thrived out of it.

One idea is to give GC to AOS applicants regardless of namecheck result, if all
other security checks are OK and let the namecheck run in background . If the namecheck turns out critical , cancel the GC & deport the applicant.
But USCIS and lawyers will loose big time , because of reduced demand for APs,EADs etc.

Please refer this document and it will answer your doubt. To be specific L1B resources cannot be deployed in client premises on projects managed and controlled by client (known consulting assignments in technology world). This is just part of the violation. Second... L1B resources cannot be used for general technical skills (java/.net/oracle/production support etc) BUT can only be used for their speciality skills (while processing the L1 visa outsourcing companies shows some internal tools to prove this point). Hope this cleared your doubt, I am pretty sure that now you will be able to find a lot of violations in using L1B resources. L1B resource usage is so common that most of us who are aware of immigrations statuses even doesnt know about this .. forget others including our clients and their managers.

Hi,
My company's attorney filed for my PERM and I-140. After I-140 approval the attorney kept the original I-140 and sent me the courtesy copy of the approval. I am now going to file for my I-485 on my own.
My question is -
Can I make a photocopy of the courtesy copy of this I-140 approval and use it to file my I-485?
P.S: Courtesy copy is NOT the photocopy of the original I-140. It is a copy that USCIS sends in addition to the orinial approval.
I am in the same situation, and I plan to include photocopy of my courtesy copy of my I-140 with other docs, as I am filing AOS by myself. If anyone else had the same issue, please share your exp.
