Obviously. I was responding to the idea that is was somehow ironic (and funny) that such a low-tech device could disrupt such a high-tech show. There are many other low-tech ways to cause problems for exhibitors. You can't have an open, accessible show floor and protect against everyone's idea of a "prank." Exhibitors have to be able to trust that attendees, especially press credentialed attendees, won't make them look foolish in order to drive traffic to their blogs.
Anyway, I hope you took notice of the real point of my comment:
That's nothing to laugh about.
This is more about the prank being done by a Gizmodo employee than the prank itself. If some Joe Blow attendee had done this, the blowback wouldn't have been as bad.
Credentialed people are held to a higher standard. They are trusted to cover the event, not affect the outcome of it. Any blogger or press member should be embarrassed by this kind of behavior. As a writer and an event planner, I'm pissed in every way imaginable.

Not sure about the AP Express (it's not on Apple's printed "Joy to the Wallet" sale list) ... Here it is again:
"Joy to the Wallet" sale only on black friday '06:
iMac: $898-$1958
MacBook: $998-$1398
.Mac: $68
iPod Nano (except Reds): $138-$228
iPod: $228-$318
Wireless Mighty Mouse: $58
Shure earphones: $78-$238
Contour iPod Cases: $14-$24
Belkin TuneBase FM: $58
JBL On Stage Micro: $78
JBL Spot Speakers: $108
LaCie Hard Drives: $148-$888
Incase Sling Pack: $48
Xtreme Mac Micro Memo Voice Recorder: $48
Sonic Impact Video-55 Display: $238
Nike+iPod Sport Kit: $24
The "red" iPod nanos and the new ipod shuffle remain at the same prices...
Well, then you add tax and you would be better of buying online at free-shipping, no-tax options. Applestores are nice, to look at stuff, but no good for anything else (especially lousy are the 'so-called' genius bars).
Just my 2c, t.

Miss by a mile pal. iPad has nothing to do with your opinion about iPhone. If you can't accept the fact that iPhone has re-invented the phone industry, a fact all the media accepted, then even a hundred iPad in your household couldn't save your ********. You know that if you're older than 15.Miss by a mile, indeed. You can't read.

How do you feel about being tracked and information stored without your knowledge? Oh wait, it's ok, Uncle Stevie knows what's best.
From what I've read, the police have known about this little feature for sometime and use it. So in a worst case scenario, Big Brother was watching.

Why are record labels so against cloud based storage and access of music?
Until someone has a decent cloud offering in the uk, I can see myself sticking with Audiogalaxy for my own personal streaming needs.
Amazon may have jumped the gun a bit but I admire what they did either way.
I can't really agree with this. The last thing I want is a bunch of different places to buy music.
IF and only if the same same content was offered on both stores would this be a good thing in my opinion, otherwise its kind of like the Blu Ray vs HD DVD thing.
How is this comparable? Blu-ray and HD-DVD were completely incompatible with each other whereas the various online stores undoubtedly sell their music in an pod friendly format or face cutting off the biggest market for portable music players.
The main problem we used to have was drm incompatibilities but that is pretty much dead. What is the benefit of having a singular source controling the music market?

In case you haven't noticed, they've redefined computing almost overnight.
I think you're the only one who's noticed that. I haven't yet. I've yet to even see an iPad outside the Apple Store.

EDIT: How do I make this look bigger? ^ this?
System Preferences sorted alphabetically has been around for awhile now. If I recall correctly, I think I even remember it in Tiger. Not sure about anything before that.

The location collection opt-in is NOT simply tied to agreeing to your TOS/EULA. It's a fairly clear and concise dialog and entirely optional:
Image (http://www.f-secure.com/weblog/archives/itunes_location.png)
when was this implemented before last year or recently, the lawsuit filed over collecting emails and political views as well as location data was a year ago, only recently they have to respond over the allegations.
If you cant show the date your full of BS, then again your also free to be naive and excused if crimes where committed by apple
remember during last year there where many financial issues, companies collapsed, info like this which apple got hold off illegaly could of been the reason

The key word in that is IF most best buys don't have any ipads in stock to begin with and neither do apple store. There is a very short supply of them right now. so IF a store has some based on SOP they can hold them. It'll only be till Sunday so calm yourselves down. As for the PS3 can only be sold with a PSP you should have told him to shove it and spoke with a manager. That can get a kid fired

...But it is not the business of the press *to set about to* change or influence that which they observe.
Especially not in politics. Oh, no.

So, let me see...for those of us NOT living in the US, what do we have?
Movie Store - NOT available (downloading movies is not my cup of tea anyway);
Streaming device for movies bought in the iTMS - NOT available as well
New Nanos with SAME capacity?? - No, thanks...
I was going to receive a (female) friend tonight, but she postponed for tomorrow...so this means I will have instead a big "yawning" session tonight at Apple news/rumor sites, with few things applicable to people outside of the US...move along, citizens... :(

They really seem to believe that everyone is naive.
As Apple themselves have pointed out, the number of displayed bars on a phone is often not very meaningful.
What's important, is how much dBm change occurs and especially whether or not the connection drops.

I'm beginning to think that on a lonely, quiet Friday night this is the most action that Calidude can hope for.
I'm 50 ... and married, Calidude.
What's your excuse?
Pffft I'm practically married myself. Live-in gf. Friday nights are a thing of the past.

there is a very mac 84 like video on the samsung site. also they came out with a 10 megapxl phone too.
I work at Best Buy and I've messed with it. It's actually pretty cool until you roll out the giant piece of crap that is the speakers.

Updated iMac (without screen issues)… make an option for a quad! :)
I know the chance for the iMac to be updated is small, but this is what the Buyer's Guide says: Days Since Update - 154 (Avg = 185)
I'm just saying, but is it really that far-fetched that we'll see Penryn iMacs on the 15th?
… Oh, and I want the iPhone to come to Norway!!! :D

I got it wlh99, thanks. I have two timer working fine (finally :) , I was told that you can't reuse the same timer, hence the 2nd timer. There is one Start button and one Cancel button
Now I'm trying to find a logic to turn the 1st timer ON while the 2nd is OFF, then if you press Cancel you invalidate that 1st timer.
I have both timers starting at the same time. So, i'm sure I could work it out using an if /condition statement.. something like :
// *myTimer is the 1st timer
// *newTimer is the 2nd timer
if (myTimer != newTimer) {
